"I'm just curious, just to better understand your ruling. If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody's bleached blonde bad built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?"
Crockett made this comment about MTG at a May 2024 House Oversight Committee hearing on contempt charges for AG Merrick Garland. It triggered a heated back-and-forth and momentarily shut down the hearing.

Crockett has repeatedly compared voter ID requirements to Jim Crow-era suppression. Texas, the state she represents, requires photo ID to purchase pseudoephedrine, board a plane, drive a car, open a bank account, and collect government benefits.
