Schiff was a prominent voice claiming the 2016 election had been compromised by Russian interference. He then criticized Republicans for questioning the integrity of the 2020 election — using virtually identical arguments to the ones he had made about 2016.

Schiff repeatedly claimed on national television that he had personally seen direct evidence of Trump-Russia collusion. The Mueller Report found no evidence of criminal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Multiple reports documented that Schiff selectively leaked classified intelligence to media outlets during the Russia investigation while simultaneously chairing the committee tasked with protecting that intelligence.
