Repeatedly claimed he was arrested during a civil rights march — the story was false

"I was arrested… trying to see [Nelson Mandela]."

Biden told this story multiple times on the campaign trail. The Washington Post and others could find no evidence it ever happened. Biden's own Senate files showed no such arrest.
